With her impressive win, Daring Kathy joined Wild Dude and Tie Hand (Ven) as Wildcat Heir progeny who have notched a 2014 graded stakes. It was the fourth stakes win (VIDEO) of the season for Daring Kathy, who is also Wildcat Heir’s leading earner to date this year with $356,366.

In what has become her signature running style, Daring Kathy was a wire-to-wire winner of the My Charmer Handicap. The John Eaton and Steve Laymon homebred set fractions of 24.4, ;51.4, 1:16.1, 1;40.1 while stopping the clock in 1;52.3 for the nine-furlong turf test.

A 3-year-old filly out of the Kingmambo mare Dare to Mambo, Daring Kathy has also won the $90,000 Cellars Shiraz Stakes, $90,000 Starfish Bay and $75,000 Honey Ryder Stakes at Gulfstream Park this season. She was also third in both the Lake George Stakes (G2) at Saratoga and Ontario Colleen Stakes (G3-Can) at Woodbine. Trained by David Fawkes, Daring Kathy has career earnings of $356,366 on six wins and two thirds in nine starts this season.

Wildcat Heir, the current leading Florida sire and juvenile sire, is the only stallion in Florida history to record progeny earnings of $4 million plus five years in a row. To date in 2014, Wildcat Heir has progeny earnings of $5,710,110 and is represented by eight stakes winners. In addition to his current leading seasonal earner and graded stakes winner Daring Kathy, Wildcat Heir is represented by graded stakes winners Wild Dude and Tie Hand (Ven). Wildcat Heir’s 2014 stakes winners to date include Rainbow Heir, Coco’s Wildcat, Ramona’s Wildcat, Hot Heir Skier and One More Wild Ride. He is also represented by graded stakes-placed Heir Kitty and stakes-placed winners Jewel of a Cat and Russian Jewel.

As the current leading Florida juvenile sire, Wildcat Heir has progeny earnings to date of $765,446. His leading juvenile is stakes winner Coco’s Wildcat, who has to date banked $95,745.

Wildcat Heir, who was the leading Florida sire in 2013, 2011 and 2010, stands as property of Journeyman Stud and will stand the 2015 season for $10,000.
