Quality Lass Proves Best in Turf Amazon Handicap at PARX

Quality Lass, by Journeyman Stud stallion Exclusive Quality, put on a show of speed and grit in winning the $200,000 Turf Amazon Handicap on September 1 at PARX Racing. VIDEO

Taking the lead three jumps out of the gate, Quality Lass set sizzling fractions of :22.48 and 45.40 while winning the 5-furlong turf test by a nose in :57.71. Finishing third by a half-length to Quality Lass was Jewel of a Cat, by Journeyman Stud stallion Wildcat Heir.

Earlier this season, Quality Lass also won the Satin and Lace Stakes and finished third in The Very One Stakes to have earned $211,000 to date on the year. Out of the stakes-placed Bold Executive mare On the Podium, Quality Lass was purchased for $82,000 in the OBS March sale in 2011 by West Point Thoroughbreds. Quality Lass has career earnings to date of $415,265.

Exclusive Quality entered stud at Journeyman Stud in 2008. In addition to Quality Lass, he is also the sire of four other stakes winners and five stakes-placed runners. His leading earner to date is multiple stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Sr. Quisqueyano ($528,150), who was third in the 2014 Skip Away Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park.
