Finishing third to Holywell was Leap Year Luck, by Hear No Evil, and who won the Florida Sire Stakes Desert Vixen Stakes on August 9. Hear No Evil stands as property of Jacks Or Better Farm at Journeyman Stud, giving the latter a 1-3 finish in the Susan’s Girl Stakes by its stallions.
Holywell stayed just off the rail before taking the leading at the quarter-mile pole and resolutely held off a charging Moment of Delight to win by a nose in a photo finish. Fractions for the seven-furlong test were :22.27, : 45.88. 1:13.81 with a winning time of 1:28.62. A Tracy Pinchin homebred, Holywell is trained by Jose Pinchin. Out of the stakes-winning Gold Case mare All Saint’s Day, Holywell has banked $184,924 to date on two wins and one third in four career starts.
